Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Real Estate Investment and Finance. Minor in Aeronautical Science. Dean’s list for academic achievement. San Jose State University located in California. Passed Flight Engineer Certification course for Boeing 727 aircraft.
Licensed Pilot since 1976. 700 hours. Advanced ratings of Instrument and Seaplane.
Certified to fly over twelve different types of aircraft. Helicopter student pilot. Licenses current.
United States Coast Guard U.S. Merchant Marine Officer Master (Ship Captain) License current.
Experience:
1974: First real estate position upon obtaining Salesman License. Leasing Agent for Special Occupancy Service, Inc., (SOS). Firm specialized in the rapid leasing to qualified tenants of distressed large apartment properties and office buildings throughout the United States. At the age of 23 years, became the top salesman in firm within first three months of employment.
1976 to 1979: Obtained Broker license and became the Director of Acquisitions for national apartment syndication group. Interfaced with lenders. Also leasing consultant to property management group.
1980 to 1981: Moved to Honolulu from California upon finally graduating from college.
Managed a night club in Waikiki, Blue Water Cafe. Then became building manager for 444 Nahua.
1982: Moved back to California for better employment opportunities. Consultant to various investment groups and syndication groups for acquisitions, sales, turn-around of distressed properties, and property management. Prepared loan application packages. Presented work-out plan to lenders for purchase and turn-around of distressed properties.
1985: Consultant to various apartment development companies. Opened new projects, staffed, organized, and leased properties. Placed on market for sale. Assisted Buyers with financing.
1990: Obtained State of California General Building Contractors License. Secured investment partner and Attorney partner. Obtained construction loan & rollover to permanent loan. Built 104 unit luxury apartment project in Rocklin, California. Project very successful. Sold prior to construction completion. Assisted Buyer with financing. Secured second land parcel for next development. Market died.
1992: Permanently relocated to Maui, Hawaii. Secured Real Estate Salesman License. Worked for various companies until such time as could qualify for Broker License. Obtained State of Hawaii Real Estate Broker License. Thereafter obtained Condominium Managing Agent License and Condominium Hotel Operator License.
1994 to current: Started company: Maui Property Management & Sales, Inc. President & Principal Broker. Real estate sales and property management of Homeowner Associations, retail, commercial, and industrial properties. Lease-to-fee conversion expert. Negotiated lease terms and coordinated loans for the simultaneous closing of the lease purchase for over 100 owners.
2003: Obtained State of Hawaii Mortgage Solicitors License. While operating Maui Property Management & Sales, Inc. wrote numerous real estate loans for Meridian Financial Network.
2011: Registered DBA Hawaii Property Management & Sales, opened Honolulu office.
